FF : She'd Been a Goddess
She was a dance of winter blue,
A determined flame of cold white dawn.
Her eyes, once a child’s, now deepened to an ocean,
A timeline of loneliness and suppression.
She’d become an adult.
Rigid.
Watchful.
All child-like desires restrained—
Hidden.
Seeing her this way makes my heart ache.
In her youth, she’d been a goddess,
An ethereal howl of biting winter wind.
Never apologizing.
Never holding back.
Now she stands,
A mere whisper choking the storm inside.
I want her to scream,
To let go of this tranquil heresy
And call forth all the corners of her wild heart.
I want her to be free.

She slung her work bag over her shoulder, slipped on a pair of nondescript, black flats, and rushed out the door. Amazingly, Mrs. Randall was quiet this morning. Even crazy old women need their beauty sleep!
When Alex stumbled into the office with all her usual grace at 10:23, she not

Unexpected - Chapter 4
They spoke for a while about Ethics, and Alex realized they had more in common than she would have thought. Some boring computer nerd... who would have thought he’d be so interesting? Alex smiled to herself, thinking that Eric was anything but boring.
After a while, Eric paused and looked at her for a moment.
“Since you are busy tomorrow, why don’t you just stay for dinner tonight? It’s already 6:30, and I hate to think of putting company out the door when I’m about to start cooking anyway.”
Alex considered it. What else was she going to do tonight after all? Go home, skip dinner because she was tired, m
